TISPA manages Internet Exchange Points (IXPs), strategic facilities where diverse networks connect directly to exchange traffic. These IXPs enable efficient data transmission between ISPs, content providers, and other network operators, reducing latency and costs while enhancing the overall performance of Tanzania’s internet ecosystem. By fostering collaboration among stakeholders, TISPA ensures robust, scalable, and reliable connectivity, driving the growth of Tanzania’s digital economy.
TIX is currently the main and most successful project of the Tanzania Internet Service Providers Association (TISPA). The intention of the TIX was to provide a local facility to the exchange of internet traffic.

The Mbeya Internet Exchange Point (MBIXP) is an Internet exchange point in Mbeya. It is open to any network operator that believes that they can make their network more efficient through peering. MBIXP is located at TTCL TELEPHONE HOUSE MBEYA.
The Mwanza IXP was created in cooperation between TCRA and TISPA. It is operated by TISPA in order to provide a neutral peering point for IP networks in Mwanza, Tanzania.
ZIXP is a project of TISPA. The Zanzibar Internet Exchange Point (ZIXP) is an Internet exchange point in Zanzibar. ZIXP is located at Kilimani, Manara wa Mbao, the former Tritel building and current ComNet office (as well as Coconut FM).
