Internet Governance workshop initiative targets to introduce participants from various backgrounds in Tanzania not only to Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) issues but also the wider Internet ecosystem with an aim of ensuring that this new audience, are prepared early enough to help them participate effectively in the Internet ecosystem. The overarching objectives of this workshop is to promote local engagement of African communities in Internet Governance, create awareness about ICANN issues and build capacity of African local community towards addressing future challenge of the Internet in Africa.
Participants attending this workshop will cover a wide range of topics such as: the role of ICANN in managing unique identifiers, IANA transition, economic opportunities, the role of tzNIC in Internet Ecosystem in Tanzania, TISPA and Internet Governance Stakeholders just to mention a few.
